Amadablam(6856m) stands tall and prominent with her mesmerizing beauty dominating the Khumbu Valley towards Everest Base Camp, also known as "Mattherhorn of the Himalaya."
Ama Dablam in Sherpa language means "Mother's Necklace". When you see from a distance the mountain looks like a mother protecting her child. The sharp ridges, steep rock faces, ice and snow covers provide climbers the best mix climbing experience with stunning views and beautiful climb. We fly to Lukla and trek through beautiful Sherpa settlements towards Amadablam BC to begin our climb.
The standard ascent to Ama Dablam is made via the South-West Ridge which was first climbed in 1961 by Ward (UK), Bishop (USA) and Gill (NZ). We establish C1 and C2 to make our attempt for the summit. Basecamp is located in a beautiful pasture while C2 will take your breath away overlooking the Khumbu valley. . Upon reaching the top of the peak, you are welcomed with the magnificent panoramic view of splendid massifs of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Makalu (8463m), Island peak (6189m), and many others.
